Mittag Family,
Thank you for the blog posts from Denver. I did not make it this year, and enjoyed viewing the bulls and market steer show pictures you posted. Another neat concept that I noticed you have is the Blast from the Past. There are many pictures on there that bring back memories and shows a neat timeline of where we have been in the cattle industry. In fact, it inspired a conversation with my Dad as we began looking through old pictures in the drawer at my parents place. We found pictures of the bulls Jackpot and Payback on display in Denver. We also found several pictures of the "JR" steer raised by Dad in the early 80's. I have attached 2 of the pictures of JR one after winning the Texas State Fair and one after winning the World Steer Show at the Iowa State Fair. He was shown by the Messerly Family from Iowa and then sold to the Vogel Family from Texas. JR's value increased 10 fold over his lifetime and he was shown 15 times winning Grand Champion 14 and Reserve once. Sired by Idalgo and out of the Wayne Lautner 105 Angus cow (also saw a picture of her and she was very nice by today's standards)
